"When I first learned of the FitnessWave Body Composition Challenge, I knew that it was something I wanted to do. However, when the second challenge came around I was unable to enter due to injury. I kept waiting on the third challenge, but had almost convinced myself by then that I could handle losing weight on my own. When David sent out the final email calling for the last entries, I decided that it was time to step up.
As a triathlete, I’ve learned that nothing sets a deadline for you like registering for an event. I went to the gym for years before I began racing, but had little to keep me motivated or to hold me accountable. Triathlons help to give me a purpose in training, and the accountability in addition to the reward for doing so.
The same is true when attempting to lose weight and become healthier. I managed to drop some pounds over the past few years training for events, but had hit a plateau and was unable to break through it. I needed to see the numbers from FitnessWave, and have the accountability of the Body Composition Challenge. Once I got dunked by David the fuse was lit, and it burned a fire in me that I was unable to start on my own.
By the end of the twelve weeks, I had lost 19 pounds of body fat, which decreased my overall body fat composition by 6%. I am now at a weight that I haven’t seen in over a decade, and in the absolute best shape of my life. I can’t wait to begin the 2010 race season, and finally become a competitor instead of just another participant.
I am confident that without FitnessWave I would still be at the same plateau for yet another season. I was able to improve my body and fitness to a level above my own expectations with David’s assistance. The benefits I received as a result far exceed the costs and sacrifice required. I encourage everyone to utilize the technology available at FitnessWave and to participate in the Body Composition Challenge.
The most amazing thing is that right before I entered the challenge, I had a scripture engraved on my RoadID. I then read where David quoted this same scripture in the FitnessWave Body Composition Analysis. It provides me with inspiration to achieve all that I can which God blesses me to do in order to glorify Him."
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

"I contemplated joining the fall Fitness Wave Body Composition Challenge, but I was a bit hesitant because I thought, “I can do this by myself, I don’t need all that scientific stuff to tell me how to get fit and lose weight.”……How wrong was I? After the fall BC challenge, I was still floundering at the same weight, same body fat percentage. I then decided to join the next challenge and during the testing, the Fitness Wave motto hit me “That which is measured, improves.” I can’t echo those sentiments loud enough. Not only in the exercise world, but also in everyday life. Measured results bring change and improvement. After getting my metabolism measured and meeting with Stephen Taylor, I had a starting point. I was able to figure exactly where I was, where I wanted to be, and what I needed to do to get there. I had a plan, got on track, and it all came together. Don’t get me wrong, it was not easy driving past all those fast food restaurants and attempting to eat healthy at the sit down “better for you” restaurants so that I could stay on track to reach my goal, especially in my line of work. When I entered the Body Composition Challenge, I never dreamed I would stand a chance of winning. My main goal was not to win, but to improve myself and reach some of my personal fitness and exercise goals that I have never been able to reach wandering aimlessly through the diet and exercise world. When I found out that I had changed my body 24.9%, I was absolutely astonished. One of the best feelings has been ordering new uniforms and gun belt because I shrunk out of them. My gun belt was literally falling off of me! I am back in the size pants I was wearing in 1994, 15 years ago when I attended the police academy. I continue to use the caloric and nutrition information to maintain my weight and fitness level. “That which is measured, improves!!!!” It really does. If you don’t believe me, then try and see for yourself."

"I can't do it." never accomplished anything. "I will try." has performed wonders. ( quote by George P. Burnham)
"I have been struggling with obesity for almost 20 years.. I turned 50 this year and now more than ever I have a sense of urgency to get fit. When I went to Fitness Wave I was embarassed to get dunked and feared facing the "numbers". David Harris said something to me that helped me get past this " You have to know where you are to get where you want to go." He was right. I am glad that I did not let fear hold me back from taking this challenge. One of the things I learned this past 12 weeks is that anyone that wants to make a physique change whether it is 5 pounds or 50 needs these test. David helped me to set a realistic 12 week goal which was important so I would not get discouraged. I read his fitness blog www.FITNESSU.BLOGSPOT.CM and found useful information that helped me be successful. I was given a calorie chart that showed what my intake needed to be to lose, maintain or at what point I would actually start to gain weight. It helped me plan my day to work towards gradual steady weight loss.
I am so excited that I won this challenge! I plan to use my prize of free testing for a year to help guide me towards my ultimate goal of being healthy and fit. I can tell a difference all ready in how my body performs with just 19 lbs lost. I can't wait to reach my goal in 2009!"
